Wistful, yet still sweet. If you want a book that will get your tear ducts flowing, or will make you throw the book across your bedroom out of anger from all the SABATOGE in the book, this is the book for you! It shows the beautiful Iranian culture in the 1950s and the young love that is found within it. Set to be married, sabotage occurs, but neither of them were aware and thought the other had changed their mind last minute. Bahmen and Roya have something beautiful and rare. Although young, they were meant for each other. Again, you fall in love with the characters and want them so badly to be with each other. I always fall in love with the male lead in every romance novel I read. Given the author’s description, they’re so handsome when I put them together. Even though fate brings them back together, it is not how I wanted the story to go, but that’s the reality of life as well. I would say this is the most realistic love story that most people in the world get because life does not go the way anyone plans it. The comfort of this book is that you know they both loved each other all their lives and still had their own beautiful, happy (not as happy as being with each other) lives that went on.
